We built a bold yet friendly brand identity for Enzo’s International Comfort Food & Grill to balance the eatery’s sophisticated and chic setting with their approachable comfort food. The challenge was to maintain both aspects of the experience, in order to provide a new option that can cater for both casual and discerning diners.
Combining a stylish restaurant experience with approachable comfort food meant that Enzo’s needed a brand identity that was equal parts sophisticated and friendly. We infused this balance in the brand’s main visual element – the bison – which is the signature icon used on the restaurant’s menus, staff uniforms, signage, and takeaway packaging. The outline illustration of the bison aims to capture a strong yet familiar and humble character to represent the restaurant, as well as evoking casual American-style diners or steakhouses. The menu, printed on sheets of coloured card and presented on a clipboard, also blends hand-written elements into a stylish typeface, all to achieve this delicate balance between sophistication and familiarity.
