What does a Packaging Designer do at Un-titled Lab?
As a member of our Design team, you will be a specialist in packaging design, bringing brands to life on the shelf through innovative and strategic packaging solutions. You will work on complex packaging projects from concept to production, collaborating with high-profile clients across diverse industries, that not only looks stunning but also functions beautifully and communicates brand values effectively. You will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop packaging concepts from initial sketches through to production-ready files, ensuring every detail is perfect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Packaging Design Strategy
- Understand brand positioning and translate it into distinctive packaging design that stands out on shelf.
- Work with the strategy team to develop packaging that addresses market needs and consumer insights.
- Consider the full packaging ecosystem across product lines and touchpoints.
- Design Development & Execution
- Create innovative packaging concepts from mood boards and sketches through to final production files.
- Develop packaging structures, die lines, and technical specifications.
- Design all packaging elements including graphics, typography, color systems, and information hierarchy.
- Create mock-ups and prototypes to evaluate design effectiveness.
- Ensure designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Technical Excellence & Production
- Prepare print-ready artwork with precise specifications for various printing processes.
- Work closely with production partners and printers to ensure quality output.
- Understand materials, substrates, printing techniques, and finishing options.
- Conduct press checks and quality control throughout production.
- Maintain brand consistency across all packaging applications.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with brand designers, strategists, and account teams.
- Present packaging concepts and design rationale to internal teams and clients.
- Incorporate feedback while maintaining design integrity and strategic direction.
- Mentor junior designers on packaging design principles and production knowledge.

- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or related field.
- 2+ years of proven experience as a Packaging Designer with a strong portfolio.
- Portfolio must showcase diverse packaging work across different product categories.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Proficiency in creating die lines and understanding structural packaging design.
- Strong knowledge of print specifications, color management, and production workflows.
