What does a Senior Design Researcher do at Un-titled Lab?

As a Senior Design Researcher, you will be the bridge between human insights and creative solutions, uncovering the deep understanding of users, markets, and contexts that fuel our design and strategy work. You will conduct qualitative and quantitative research to inform brand strategy, design decisions, and creative direction. Your insights will help our teams create work that resonates with audiences and solves real problems. You will work collaboratively with strategists, designers, and clients to ensure every project is grounded in meaningful research and human-centered thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Research Planning & Strategy

  • Design and plan research projects aligned with business and creative objectives.
  • Determine appropriate research methodologies based on project needs and constraints.
  • Develop research frameworks, discussion guides, and survey instruments.
  • Define research questions and success criteria in collaboration with project teams.

Research Execution & Data Collection

  • Conduct in-depth interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic studies.
  • Design and administer surveys and questionnaires.
  • Perform competitive analysis and market landscape research.
  • Facilitate co-creation workshops and participatory design sessions.

Analysis & Synthesis

  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns and insights.
  • Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Create user personas, journey maps, and empathy maps.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives.

Insight Communication & Application

  • Develop research reports and insight presentations tailored to different audiences.
  • Present findings to internal teams and clients with clarity and impact.
  • Facilitate workshops to help teams apply research insights to their work.
  • Work with creative and strategy teams to translate insights into design solutions.

What Else?

  • Work closely with strategists, designers, and account teams throughout projects.
  • Build research knowledge base and share best practices within the team.
  • Stay current with research methodologies and tools.
  • Contribute to the development of Un-titled Lab's research practice.

Qualifications

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Design Research, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in design research, user research, or market research.
  • Proven experience conducting various research methodologies (interviews, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, etc.).
  • Portfolio or case studies demonstrating research projects and impact.
  • Proficiency with research tools and platforms.
  • Experience creating user personas, journey maps, and research deliverables.

Nice to Have

  • Fluency in both Thai and English.
  • Experience facilitating workshops.
