What does a Senior Packaging Designer do at Un-titled Lab?

As a Senior Packaging Designer, you will be a packaging specialist and creative leader who drives innovation in packaging design. You will lead complex packaging projects from concept to production, working with high-profile clients across diverse industries. Beyond creating exceptional packaging designs yourself, you will mentor junior and mid-level designers, set quality standards, and contribute to the strategic direction of packaging projects. Your expertise will be crucial in elevating our packaging design practice and delivering award-worthy work that makes real impact in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Packaging Leadership
    • Lead packaging strategy development aligned with brand positioning and market insights.
    • Analyse competitive landscape and identify opportunities for innovative packaging solutions.
    • Develop comprehensive packaging systems across entire product portfolios.
    • Lead design exploration and ensure highest standards of craft and execution.
  2. Advanced Design Development
    • Create breakthrough packaging concepts that push creative boundaries while meeting business objectives.
    • Design innovative packaging structures and explore new formats and materials.
    • Develop sophisticated visual systems that work across multiple SKUs and product lines.
    • Champion sustainability and innovation in packaging design.
  3. Production Mastery & Quality Control
    • Demonstrate expert knowledge of advanced printing techniques, special finishes, and production processes.
    • Navigate complex technical challenges and find innovative production solutions.
    • Manage relationships with production partners, printers, and specialized vendors.
    • Ensure flawless execution from concept through final production.
  4. Team Leadership & Mentorship
    • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level packaging designers.
    • Review and provide constructive feedback on team members' work.
    • Share expertise and best practices to elevate team capabilities.
    • Lead design critiques and creative reviews.

    • Portfolio must demonstrate excellence and innovation in packaging design across various categories.
    • Proven track record of successful packaging projects from concept to market.
    • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
    • Deep knowledge of structural packaging design and dieline development.
